Delightful Story of one of our Exchange Students

When Valentina Wegener arrived in Canada on exchange from Austria, she went to the rink with her host family to watch their children, Teagan and Juliana, in their skating lessons. She immediately wanted to join them but there was a substantial “skills gap”.

At some considerable ministrations, her host mother, Libby Kinghorne, was able to get the Halifax Skating Club to agree to put Valentina in special skating lessons twice a week for the time she was here (admittedly with much younger children, but that is not important).

This is the result!  Libby didn’t know the Club was going to prepare badges and a certificate - but to Valentina’s delight, they did!  Her well deserved pride in her accomplishments were abundantly clear.

Thank you Halifax Skating Club!  And, well done, Valentina!  Congratulations!
