Provincial Impromptu Debating Championships! We have Winners!

At the Provincial Impromptu Debating Championships this weekend Senior High school students Rory Flynn and Mattea Roach won the tournament! Rory and Mattea placed 1st and 2nd individually, respectively. Congratulations, ladies! You are awesome!

In Junior High Ailie Sullivan McCulloch placed 2nd individually. Congratulations, Ailie! 

Fountain Academy Grade 9 students David Sapp and Liam Manderville came in 3rd.


Anya Friesen placed 7th, Catherine Burke placed 14th, Emma McLean place 22nd and that Anya Friesen and Emma McLean were 5th as a team overall thereby qualifying to go to Nationals.

 

Out of 32 junior debaters, Olivia Ryan placed 11th, just out of the top ten.  Pretty impressive for a first time debater.


More from Fountain: On the senior side, out of forty four debaters, Robert Sapp placed 8th, Aristides Milios placed 20th, and Andy Samman placed 21st overall. Andrew Mayo placed 15th individually and in the top ten teams and so will be representing Nova Scotia at the upcoming National Championships. 

For the Juniors, Lukas Willsie placed 6th, David Sapp placed 7th, Liam Manderville placed 10th, Amir Mishreky placed 16th, Liam Morrison placed 22nd.
