The Elementary School had a terrific showcase recently of their work on this year's Schoolwide Enrichment Project-Wind Energy-sustainable renewable resource.
All grades from Jr. Primary to grade six studied the power of the wind, from wind chimes, kite flying, the destruction of three pigs' houses to using software at Saint Mary's University that designs turbine blades. Visits from a Dalhousie Wind Farm turbine engineer showed us the parts and power of a Wind Turbine. He even made us a working model.
Through curiosity, creativity and community experts, we truly harnessed a learning experience that everyone benefitted from.
Way to go, Mrs. Robinson and Ms. Naulls, for organizing this project. What a terrific project.
