The Halifax Regional Council has awarded Mary Cate Driscoll Sangster a 2016 Citizenship Award, in recognition of being an honours student who exemplifies the qualities of a good citizen. Mary Cate volunteers with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Public Affairs, is Sunday school teacher with the STACM parish, contributes regularly to the AR Sunday suppers. She is a leader in many Sacred Heart clubs and activities, and has been voted as class rep for the past two years. We are so pleased for Mary Cate to receive this recognition of her dedication to helping others.
We are also proud to announce that Stefano Di Quinzio was honoured with a HRM Citizenship Award in a ceremony on May 10th at City Hall. He is a stalwart volunteer at every event inside of his school, in particular with this year's Christmas Fair. He was present from beginning to end. He also volunteers at St Agnes Parish Church; reading, altar serving, and taking up collection. He is a volunteer with the St Andrew's Sunday Suppers, and he assists local swimming instructors in teaching swimming lessons to young children, helping when one child needs a little extra attention.
