On Saturday, May 9th, the annual Concours D'Art Oratoire was held at Mount Saint Vincent University. In grade 7, Gabrielle Côté delivered a speech on a topic close to her heart-rag doll cats. In grade 10, Emma Butler's speech explored what characteristics distinguish human beings from animals, Maria Samman spoke eloquently about the importance of being charitable, Andrea Field won a silver medal for her speech entitled 'Bon Voyage' while Annie Xu won a gold medal and a week long summer camp experience for her speech' Les Sciences derrière l'Étude d'une Deuxième Langue.' Rachel Field won the gold medal as well as a bursary and a trip to Ottawa to compete in the Concours National! An enriching experience was had by all-félicitations les filles! Four elementary students from Grades 5 and 6 entered the provincial Canadian Parents for French Concours d'art oratoire. Anisha Rajaselvam from Grade 6 and Gabrielle James, Emma Nicholson-Krupp and Lareina Shen from Grade 5 all spoke very well in this French public speaking event. Lareina placed first and Anisha placed second for the Grade 5/6 Core French category. Félicitations à toutes les filles!
