The Gr. 9 French classes had their annual Tapis Rouge Film Festival on Wednesday, May 7 in the Little Theatre. The event was hosted by Robbie, Claire and Julia from Gr 12 AP French and it was a showcase for the Gr 9 film programme where the girls create, write, cast, film, edit and promote short films in French based on an annual theme.
This years' theme was "La vie est un voyage".
The Tapis Rouge was also an occasion for CineClub to fundraise for tuition fees for a student at our sister school in Uganda. The girls hosted a red carpet dressy colour day and raised over $300. Many thanks to all who participated and especially to Lucinda, who made a very special contribution from the heart!
Chloe won a $25 Cineplex gift certificate as a doorprize at the Tapis Rouge. Félicitations!
The "Choix du peuple" or People's Choice Award for best short film was awarded to... ( imagine a very strong drum roll in the Study Hall on Friday morning!) Gr. 9R students Mia, Sarah, Jade and Thea for their film "Julia". Bravo les filles!
Another great year of French films at Sacred Heart. See you next year on the "Tapis Rouge"!
