Concours d'Art Oratoire (French Speech Contest) at Mount

Sunday, April 27th, was the annual provincial Concours d'Art Oratoire (French Speech Contest) held at Mount Saint Vincent University.

We were very pleased to have participants from all three of our divisions this year, including:

  • Genevieve Cunningham
  • Maeve LeBlanc
  • Annie Xu
  • Rachel Field
  • Philippe Haddad
  • Andy Samman
Rachel Field placed first in the 11/12 Late Immersion category with her speech "Un échange inoubliable!".
Sarah MacAskill presented "La ringuette" in the 5/6 Early Immersion category.
Gabrielle Côté presented "Les controverses au patin artistique" in the 5/6 Francophone category.
Susana Somerton presented "La natation et les infirmités" in the 5/6 Early Immersion category.
Anisha Rajaselvam placed first in the 5/6 Core French category with her speech "Je veux aider le Tiers Monde" 

Maeve LeBlanc presented "Choisir votre prochaine croisière" in the 7/8 Integrated French category.
Geneviève Cunningham placed first in the 7/8 Early Immersion category with her speech "Voici le ski".
Annie Xu placed first in the 9/10 Integrated French with her speech "Mâcher de la gomme? Pourquoi pas!"

Philippe Haddad (francophone category 9/10) and Andy Samman (Core French 9/10) both presented speeches. Philippe spoke about 'L'impact des médias sociaux' et Andy spoke about 'Si on devrait abolir l'O.N.U'. Andy won his category. 

All of our participants did an excellent job and we are very proud of them and their achievements!

Furthermore, congratulations are in order for Anisha, Genevieve, Annie, Rachel and Andy who each won their respective categories! Bravo!
