Mural Installed at Dresden Row & Spring Garden

This morning a hardy group of students Sandler Gordon, Mia Ferguson, Tad Wilson, Kathryn Gielegham, Robert Walsh and Liu Jinming, along with the Executive Director of the Spring Garden Area Business Association, Juanita Spencer, and their Communications person, Rachel Brown, walked down to the corner of Spring Garden Road and Dresden Row with artist Kyle Jackson and Monica Rojo to install the 16 foot mural.

It absolutely poured the whole time we were doing the install with CTV, The Herald and Metro News reporters and camera men.  Our thanks to all of these people including all the friends of the school who came out to see it installed.

Please do have a look at it on site!

This has been an amazing project and we are delighted that it engaged the entire Sacred Heart community.  We offer a huge thank you to Kyle Jackson who was our artist in residence for this project and to Sacred Heart teacher, Monica Rojo, who was willing to take on this project from the beginning.  We have very much enjoyed our partnership and collaboration with the Spring Garden Area Business Association.  It is a wonderful addition for the whole Halifax community!

We are grateful to Marie Adsett at CTV/ATV for covering the install yesterday! Here is the clip from ATV http://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=871759&binId=1.1145729&playlistPageNum=2

After we got back to the school from the install, the sun came out!  About an hour later, CTV/ATV contacted us and asked us to re-create the install so a number of people headed back down.  Below are the photos from that - the weather was better.
