Fountain Sharks Win Robotics Award

Mr. JobbLiam Kleronomos (Team Captain), Ms. Leadbetter
Robert Walsh, Liam Kleronomos, Matthew Kleronomos, Zack Sangster, Sam Carver, Jaden Lawen, Cullen Roach, Rocco LeBlanc, Jonathan Trott and Christophe Sylvester represented Fountain Academy at the HRM Regional FIRST Lego League (FLL) Qualifier this weekend.

FLL is an international robotics competition that requires students to complete pre-determined challenges with a robot in addition to researching a project to go along with a theme each year. During the one day competition the team is judged on their project, their abilities to work as a team, their robot design and their score on the robotics challenges.

At the competition, the Sharks rose above the rest and competed their third trial with the highest score of the whole day to win the Robotics Award, securing them a spot at the Provincial competition at Acadia in February! It is the first time that Fountain Academy will be sending a team to this stage of the competition. The winner of the provincial competition will represent Nova Scotia at the FLL World Championships.
