"Let's Get Crafty"

'Let's get Crafty' is a new Elementary School after school craft club for grades 3-6.  It's proving to be very popular with 22 members. More students can join in the New Year.

Students make things to take home for themselves and their families, but they will also sell their creations at school events, such as the Christmas Fair - look out for the 'Lets get Crafty' area. Funds raised will be contributed directly to the school to help with things such as field trips & sports teams.  We encourage recycling & repurposing to make some projects, so students bring in some items from home to give them a new lease of life.

Parents & staff have been kindly donating materials. If you have any craft materials at home you would like to donate, the students will happily accept them, e.g. buttons, yarn, fabric, wine corks. Drop off with Mrs O'Halloran in the Elementary School

During the year, projects will include - sewing, rug making, card making, button crafts, jewelry making, fashion accessories, pom pom making, animal toys

Students are learning new skills, discovering their own hidden talents and making some fantastic projects.

We are grateful to the following people who have helped create this craft club:  Eleanor Jamieson, Susan Archibald & Mrs. O'Halloran organize & supervise the club.  We have guest crafters in doing workshops, e.g. Robin T & Gabrielle James (gr6) teaching jewelry making.  Other parents help when they can. We have several HS girls volunteering with us - Rachel Latimer, Olivia & Lauren Ryan.
