After a busy summer
preparing for the Canadian National Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships, Kaitlin
Bird, Gr. 12 Sacred Heart student, with her Senobe teams, won the Gold medal
for the Midget level war canoe, Gold medal for the Women’s War canoe and the
Bronze medal for the Juvenile War Canoe. With 42 clubs and over 1000 paddlers
participating at the Montreal site from across Canada, the Senobe girls from
Dartmouth also earned the overall highest Burgee points for the Midget Girls
category! Kaitlin’s two K-4 boats also went to finals with a sixth and nine
place finish overall. Congratulations to Kaitlin and all her team mates!
Also, following her
recent and wonderful school trip to Kenya, Kaitlin and her friend Emma
Churchill, Gr. 12, raised over $140 dollars for FREE THE CHILDREN by asking for
donations in lieu of birthday gifts at their summer Luau birthday party. Well
done girls!
