Sacred Heart Students in Provincial Children's Chorus of Nova Scotia

Three of our Sacred Heart students have been preparing for a performance this weekend as part of the provincial Children's Chorus of Nova Scotia. They are Emma Nicholson-Krupp (Grade 5), Kelly Page (Grade 6) and Isaac Djogbenou (Grade 7).

They have already attended a regional rehearsal with over 80 other students who live nearby to Halifax. This weekend they have two full days of rehearsal on Friday and Saturday along with over 180 students (Grade 4-9) selected from choirs from across the province. The big concert is on Sunday April 12th, 3 pm at the United Memorial Church on Kaye St. Tickets are $15 on the door.

Emma, Kelly and Isaac have shown great commitment to this event, memorizing 7 choral pieces, most of which are in other languages such as Norwegian, Spanish and Japanese. Most of the songs are in 2 and 3 part harmony, and some have choreography to remember also!

The students will also be working with a guest international conductor, Zimfira Poloz, who teaches vocal Pedagogy for Young Choirs at the University of Toronto, and is the current Artistic Director for the Young Voices of Toronto and the Hamilton Children's Choir. This event is organized by the Nova Scotia Choral Federation.

We wish you luck!
