Christmas Fair at Sacred Heart - Sat. Nov.15th 11-3pm All Welcome!

Sacred Heart School is holding its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 15th from 11:00am to 3:00pm here at the school.  This annual event is organized by our Parents' Guild and is ALWAYS one of the best in Halifax.  There is so much to do for the whole family.  #SacredHeartHfxFair

That same night is The Chronicle Herald's Parade of Lights in downtown Halifax.  Why not make a day of it in downtown Halifax?!  Come for our Christmas Fair at 11:00 and have lunch in our Food Court and stay until 3:00 before heading downtown for the parade.

Jr. High Debate Team of Ailie Sullivan & Minahil Nadeem Take Title

Sacred Heart won the junior high title at Dalhousie this weekend.  Ailie Sullivan and Minahil Nadeem, defeated a second Sacred Heart team (Katherine Culligan and Madeleine Peet) and two Grammar teams to claim the junior high title.

Individually, Fountain debater Derek Ryan was 2nd overall and Isaac Burke was 3rd., Ailie Sullivan was 5th and David Sapp was 7th.  Madeleine Peet, a grade 7 student, was 8th. These are outstanding finishes. 

We also congratulate the other Sacred Heart and Fountain debaters, Olivia Ryan, Maisie Wong, Elizabeth Carter and Eliza Rankin. 

Our senior high team placed 5th overall, with Catherine Burke 9th and Maria Samman 12th individually. Torsten Sinclair and Robert Sapp were 10th as a team.

Pauline Scott is Receives 2014 Magis Award from Jesuit Community

Pauline Scott is the recipient of the Jesuit Centre of Spirituality's 2014 Magis Award.  Pauline is the Principal of Sacred Heart High School in Halifax and has for over 40 years given exceptional service as an educator committed to the Sacred Heart tradition of education in Halifax. The Jesuits recognized the role that tradition has played in Halifax, and the essential role Christian educators play in the flourishing of the Church's universal mission.  This award was presented at a special luncheon held at the Delta Hotel in Halifax on Saturday, November 8th which followed a celebratory Liturgy of the Eucharist at Saint Patrick's Church on Brunswick Street.

Pauline, the Sacred Heart School of Halifax community is very proud of your years of dedication to the School and your faithful commitment to the education of so many young people throughout your professional career.  This award is very well deserved.  We thank Patricia Donnelly, our former Headmistress, for authoring this Nomination.
