Sacred Heart School has a unique student exchange program in the high schools which offers our students the opportunity to attend other Sacred Heart Schools around the world for a few weeks and then the student from abroad comes here for a few weeks in return. Great relationships and bonds have been formed through these exchanges. This program complements the educational experience received at Sacred Heart School of Halifax. Recently, we had a student from Kilgraston School in Scotland come to stay with one of our students in the Girls' High School. She sent our coordinator a lovely thank you note which we wanted to share with you.
"Hope all is well with you in Halifax! Missing SHSH lots and lots. Just thought I would send you an email to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Also a great big Thank you for all the work you put in to make my exchange so wonderful. I really could not have got a better exchange family or school to visit.
Every person I met at SHSH was a credit to the school. I have honestly never met so many friendly people in one place, from the first day I arrived I felt truly part of the school life! Please send my thanks to all the pupils and teachers for making my stay amazing!
Many of the schools activities and groups such as 'global action' have now been set up in Kilgraston thanks to my visit. I was very inspired and genuinely amazed by the wonderful work that every member of the school contributes too. It is something to be extremely proud of. Please tell the girls that my home in Scotland is always open and they are very welcome to contact me if they would like to experience the Scottish culture! Hope to see you in May 2016 for a reunion!"
