Rory Flynn & Her Sister Aislin in the News!
On Thursday, August 21st, ATV/CTV came to the school to do a piece on Rory Flynn, Gr. 11 and her sister, Aislin, Class of 2012. Fountain Means Business
As many of you know, we will be offering an online AP Computer Science course this year, and several years ago we began offering a business course to our students. Two of the reasons for broadening our course offerings are featured in an article in today’s Chronicle Herald business section. Fountain students Alex Gillis and Aristides Milios, who will be taking our new AP Computer Science course in September, are shaking up the world of e-commerce with their new business application.

Team Canada 2014 - Ready to Compete
Team Canada 2014 is composed of a dozen Canadian high school debate students - two of whom are from Sacred Heart School of Halifax: Rory Flynn and Mattea Roach. Eight members of Team Canada 2014 are participating in the world competition in Thailand, a journey that began with several preparatory days in British Columbia. Rory Flynn was able to make the trip. The Team's Blog begins: "Eight of us arrived in Vancouver today to start training for WSDC in Thailand! The day was full of early flights, long flights, delayed flights, preparing topics, doing refutation activities, eating chicken, board games, and being happy to see each other again...." You can follow their progress at the Team Canada 2014 Blog. Sacred Heart Alumna Aislin Flynn continues to be involved in debate - as a coach and a judge - recently in India for a debate competition among university students, and she will be helping to judge the high school competition in Thailand. We are proud of Rory, Mattea, and all of our debate students, alums, and coaches.
